Howdy ya'll...gosh what a long silence in here but no worries am back now with the 'title' updates and i know i have a lot of blog walking to do as i missed too many of your updates. Will visit you guys very soon. and in a mean time shared with you guys with ma CNY 2012 stories as promised.
Well every time CNY approaching, me and family will be away from KK about 2 or 3 days to ma mum's village to celebrate CNY, not only ma family but the respective family of ma uncle (mum's 4th bro) and cousins from other part of KK and Beaufort too went back kampung and reunited with family members and relatives who lives in kampung for a big CNY feast. This year we just had a simple celebration but yet merrier as you know one of ma uncle (mum's 3rd bro) still in the mourning of his lost son last December and today genap sebulan ma late cousin called by the lord.
CNY EVE
Anyway, me & family off from KK last Sunday on CNY eve early in the morning as early as 7am convoyed with 2 cars. Weather are friendly and our journey back to kampung so smooth and i noticed that day less car along the highway perhaps its still early or most road user yang mo balik kampung sudah balik yang Saturday lagi mangkali. What a bliss to have a smooth and relaxing driving sambil munchy2 tidbits while soothing your ears with country numbers and enjoy the green and blue of village scenic view. Felt like driving along the countryside...
Now you know where ma village is kan?? Yup am half 'Tatana" drain in ma blood. Perhaps some of you have some idea that the people of Kuala Penyu (Tatana) most of them celebrating CNY more merrier than Christmas. If you asked me why?? i really don't know why actually, its just that the family has been doing this longer than i could remember. It is possible that our ancestors could have been part Chinese.
So every year we will checked-in to ma uncle (mum's 2nd bro) "Village Inn" (house) since ma late Popo & Ingkung no longer with us. His "Village Inn" will be our "5 star Hotel" every time CNY approaching to a family members from KK and Beaufort and it always fully booked, fully occupied and full house haha!! Just imagine 6 family and about 39 peoples checked-in one house including adults & kids in one time!! Can you imagine how merrier and fun is that!!
Reached at ma uncle's "Village Inn" about 10am, some of family members from KK has checked-in since Saturday (semangat bah!!). They are more to come the same day we checked-in. So, santai2 dulu sambil minum2 kupi and makan2 with some family members before beraksi di dapur to prepare lunch and waiting for the rest to check-in...
This year aunt made us 'Kolupis' instead of 'Tinimbu'. 'Kolupis' famous among community of "Tatana" and usually will be presented during a big / important event such as wedding or to carry ritual ceremony.
Besides, am happy to see uncle's 'Rambutan' tree so alive with red colors around the "Village Inn". So this year our dessert fresh from the tree...
As noon approached, lunch was served. As usual, mom always be our best chief-cook ever every time CNY's menu on the table for the family. Don't worry banyak co-chief cook to help bah!! So, this is our food for table on CNY's eve lunch for the family.
Well, since its CNY do expect a lot of 'meat' in the menu especially the 'vogok meat' hehehe...Thanks to uncle to sponsor his 'vogok kampung' every time CNY season for the family to feast hehe...
More family members checked-in the evening.
The night of CNY's eve we did not prepare food for dinner at ma uncle's house cause most of the year all the family will gathered at ma 1st cousins house for the CNY's eve dinner 1st, and the next day (1st day of CNY) then only at ma uncle's house.
So before we proceed to ma cousin house we all pay a visit to ma another uncle's house (mum's 3rd bro) which uncle the family is still mourning. Stay there for about half an hour and we are served with light kupi2 and biscuits session. Uncle & aunt are not joining with the rest of family for the dinner as they cannot leave the house empty for 100 days...
Here are the gatherings at ma cousin house. All are family. Since i was so hungry and busy catching up with other cousins me forgot to snap food pics on that night. If am not mistaken spend about 2 hours at cousins house then we back to our "Village Inn" for some fun agendas...
So here are the 'Village Inn' looks like from the inside. See the area up to the kitchen it was fully occupied by the family members when sleeping time same goes at the upper level. Jadi ikan sardin but we don't mind with it..hey its fun!! Owh...about the fun agendas..
Do you think its fun haha...it's time to launch the fireworks to welcome CNY 2012...It's showtime!!! Thank god none bad happened with this adult toys!! Actually the kids are so excited to watch the so called "bunga api" so here it is kids...only one blow sure makes your ear almost gone deaf but when you see the beautiful pattern 'bunga api' up in the sky you sure say WOW!!
Besides fireworks!!! cards will be fun till up in the morning. Only had a few hours sleep as we need to wake up early for a food preparation for the 1st day CNY lunch took place at uncle's 'Village Inn' for family and relatives. Year of a Dragon phew.....ada 'ONG' judi!!! Yeeeehawwwww!!!!
